Children’s Ministry Coordinator

Accountability: Senior Pastor
Time Requirement: Non-Exempt Salaried – 20-25 hours per week
Ministry Description: The Children’s Ministries Coordinator will be the leader and point of contact for all children’s ministries events and activities. This includes recruiting, training and engaging new volunteers, providing up-to-date and engaging resources for Sunday School teachers, Junior Church leaders and other volunteers, and providing a familiar face for parents and children serving as a consistent presence and connection to the church.
Mission: To advance the Children’s Ministries of TUMC to enable individuals to take the next step in growing their relationship with Christ.
Qualifications:
- Exhibits a personal lifestyle and confession that demonstrates that Jesus is Lord in his/her life.
- Has a proven record of working well with others which would translate to working effectively within the organizational structure of TUMC.
- Believes in the Mission and Vision of TUMC as communicated by the Pastor and the Church Council.
- Significant work experience with Children’s programs required with church program experience preferred.

Committee Participation:
- TUMC Staff Meetings, Education Committee Meetings and Church Council meetings as requested.

Responsibilities:
- Scheduling and supervision of Nursery, Toddler and Pre-school care on Sunday.
- Recruiting and training volunteers for children’s Sunday School Classes.
- Recruiting and training volunteers for Children’s Church
- Selecting cohesive curricula for all children’s programs.
- Planning and executing successful events for children and their families:
- Vacation Bible School, Church Camp, Trunk-or-Treat, Back-to-School Bash, Birthday Party for Jesus and Easter Egg Hunt.
- Off-site fun activities such as cook-outs and trips o ballgames, theme parks and the zoo.
- Developing a program for preparing and transitioning 4th and 5th graders to youth programs.
- Serving all children’s ministries to include teaching as needed.
- Implementing Safe Sanctuary policies for all children’s programs.
- Other responsibilities which may be added as the position develops.

Communications Coordinator
Title: Communications Coordinator
Ministry Area: Communications and Administration of all media
Accountability: Senior Pastor
Time Requirement: Non-Exempt Salaried—-20-25 hours per week
Ministry Description: The Communications Coordinator will assist in the development and implementation of effective communications and marketing, worship media and graphic designs for Trinity United Methodist Church. (TUMC) This includes but it not limited to, bulletins, brochures, newsletters, social media and web sites maintaining a consistent platform.
Mission: To advance the communications ability of TUMC to enable individuals to take the next step in growing their relationship with Christ.

Ministry Responsibilities:
In addition to the broader responsibilities of the position, the Communications Coordinator is also expected to carry out the following tasks:
- Oversee design, development, and production of all printed and visual materials with the TUMC Ministry Leaders.
- Explore and implement social media platforms as identified by the Communications Team.
- Leads Marketing/Communications Team.
- Responsible for all social media communications.
- Responsible for taking or arranging current photos and videos of activities and people to be used to showcase the life of TUMC.
- Responsible for the newsletter development and the content and the coordination of the newsletter printing and mailing or online sending.
- Responsible to coordinate the team that produces multi-media worship and other special events. Must be able to operate all projector/computer/sound equipment for all worship and special events.
- Responsible for all internal communications throughout the Trinity building.
- Works with the Ministry Team to improve and update bulletin boards.
- Creates posters and signage for classes, studies, small groups, and special events.
- Creates materials for electronic communications within and outside the facility.
- Develops promo materials (posters, mailers, ads, blogs, banners, social media posts, videos, etc.) for upcoming sermon series.
- Responsible for identifying appropriate marketing outlets and creating relevant marketing materials. (Banners, yard signs, SWAG, Print, Radio, and social media advertisements, newspaper articles and blogs.
- Work with Ministry Leaders to update and maintain web communications.
- Act as staff liaison to Website Team, communicating needs and information for the placement on the website.
- Coordinate all communications with the Administrative Assistant, determining what is placed in the bulletin, website, email, or display screens.
- Prepare announcements for display on church monitors.
- Update web calendar, Facebook and announcements in coordination with the Administrative Assistant and Ministry Leaders.
- Assist with special projects
